Saanens are the main goats of the farm. The original saanen does come from Kapra Vista of Wisconsin. Jeannette Haas was extremely helpful in sharing her knowledge and genetics with a new goat herder. Another fountain doe hails from the Sundown Creek herd who we still often echange genetics with. Over the years, bucks have mad their way to the farm from around MN, WI and CA. We are happy with the improvements of the herd in the recent years, developing our own style of dairy goat. One of the highlights having our own home bred goats win grand and reserve champion saanen athe 2019 MN State Fair! Respectable milking ability, easy keeping are important to maintain as we work on breeding competitive show goats with great general appearance, sound feet and strong mammaries.
